187 days...Agh!

To start this post off, I have to share something I found on Pinterest.

This, my friends and family, is my current state of mind. I know most will appreciate my Do-It-Yourself but a lot of people will not. That makes me wonder if it is worth doing all of it. I know deep down the answer is DUH! OF COURSE IT IS WORTH IT!

I just hope that my photographer is ready to document every twine wrapped letter and cut wine glass, ha. We shall see.

On another note, and to add to my stress, school starts in a week. Agh! I will be taking a Geology lecture class + lab and 2 Education classes (requiring 20 observational hours).

July 25th cannot come quick enough!

Don't forget to check it out and sign our guestbook!

Slowly, it is all coming together...

I have been working my little fingers to the bone with DIY items for the wedding.
My most recent project has been the letter that will be on the door when all of you fine people come through the doors.

We are doing and E,S and W for our names. Love them!

Another project I left to Vista Print was the digital photo cards I am going to give out so you can share all of your pictures with us and other people at the wedding. I know we cannot see everything that is happening at our wedding so I thought this might solve that problem. :)

Don't forget to visit out wedding site if you haven't already!
191 days!! Aghh! :)

Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia Spring Fling

If you know me, you know my love for the basset hound breed. Tonight was Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia's Spring Fling Silent and Live Auction, one to the rescue's two fundraisers. LOVE.

Steven and I scored a HUGE football helmet cooler (Steven's must have), a basset shaped cookie jar and a drawing/painting of a basset who looks JUST like our Stanley.

Steven and I also contributed. Below is one of my organizing utility totes filled with some summer goodies. It valued at ~$35 and sold for $70!! Someone "max bid" and won it automatically. Steven donated four pair of Tifosi Optics Sunglasses, all four went for more than $30 each! One went for $70! We both felt accomplished for both donating to a cause so dear to mine and Steven's heart and winning great stuff.

All-in-all, BHRG raised OVER $37,000!!!!! Lots of wonderful people donating to help the poor homeless basset hounds of Georgia.

Wanda's Hallmark Registry

I love registries. I particularly love this one because it is from where I work. Take a gander at a few of the items on our lovely list.

Lace Wrapped Votives

What you need:

I wrapped it around once to get the length I would need and once that was found, I cut my entire ribbon spool into appropriate lengths. I found that 3 yards covers about 15 votives.

The you will hot glue one end and wrap it around. I found, to speed up the process, if you do a line of glue and then quickly wrap it around and make it long enough to overlap your glue, you will only have to glue once. Saved one step of having to glue 2x.

Finished product:

This was my first one and I was experimenting with placement. I actually decided I liked it better placed in the middle so I continued to do them that way, unlike the picture where I placed it on the bottom.

30 down, 41 to go. I ran out of ribbon, haha.

In Loving Memory Candles

I have lost a lot of loved ones for me to be so young and Steven has lost friends way too young. Because of this, we decided to make an "In Loving Memorial" table. On this table, we will have the three candles pictured below, a large frame with either a poem or saying about those who cannot be here and their pictures.

Making these candles was very easy. It only consisted of these items:

- 3x9, 3x6 and a 3x3 white pillar candle (Mine are from Walmart and Hobby Lobby)
- Ribbon of your choice (Mine are from Michaels and Walmart)
- Embellishments of your choice (Mine are from the Walmart sewing section)
- Hot Glue Gun

You pretty much just play around with how you want the ribbon and embellishments to look and hot glue them on. There really isn't much more to it, ha.

Here is my outcome:

Sorry for the blurry picture, iPhone pics aren't always the best. Also, please look at the Van Gogh to the left and NOT the mess on the top of my fridge. Thank you, haha. :)

I can have not found an appropriate poem/saying/etc for the frame...I am off to do that now. I will not update the one I find so it will be a surprise for those who might actually follow me on here and are coming to our wedding. :) The suspense...haha!

Let Them Eat Cake!

Hello everyone! I know I have been missing for  a little bit. I have been working nonstop due to Mother's day and being our of school for this month. (Hooray much needed wedding money, ha!)

Well, tonight after work, I MADE myself (it wasn't that hard to convince myself, ha.) go to Hobby Lobby, PayLess and Michael's. In those places, I found my card "box", half of my centerpieces for half of my 12 tables and my soon to be shoes. They didn't have my size at that store so I have to go to another in a few days to get them (I got a $4 off coupon for my troubles, that was interesting). I also bought some glue to make my cake stands that I have been obsessing to make, I finally made a few. I am not sure how many I will end of having.

Below are my prototypes. I have to say, I am pleased. You might see these beauties at the wedding serving you your delicious cake!

Please excuse the wine bottles in the back and the previous renter's stains on the counter top. WHO PUTS IN WHITE COUNTERS?!..annoying. Anyways, they are donations to my "Erika needs EVERYONE'S wine bottles and corks" fund. If you have any, please feel free to donate to make my day pretty. :)

I hope to update again with my finished card box and other goodies for the wedding.

Don't forget to visit our wedding website and check things out, request some songs and leave us some feedback. :)
